Ecole du vin de Bordeaux (Bordeaux Wine School) will be coming to India for the first time this October to select candidates to become one of the first accredited trainers for Bordeaux in India. Three seminars will be held for F&B professionals, wine importers and educators across India. The training is being organised by Sopexa on behalf of CIVB.
The Delhi seminar will be held on October 23rd & 24th, the Bengaluru one on October 26th and 27th while the Mumbai seminar will be held on October 28th and 29th. Participants of the one-day master class seminar will receive a certificate of attendance issued by L’Ecole du vin de Bordeaux according to HospitalityBiz. Those that would like to be short listed for the accreditation would need to take a further assessment test at the end of the seminar. This will be followed by an interview session as well.
The Bordeaux Wine School was established in 1990 and includes intensive, express summer and a la carte programs. The intensive courses include a practical, techncial and Grands Crus Course where participants visit vineyards around Bordeaux. The practical and technical courses are both two days and cost Euro 350. The Grands Crus Course stretches over three days and costs Euros 600. All three courses are heavily discounted for students. More pricing information is available here. While expensive, there are probably few better ways for students to be introduced to Bordeaux wines firsthand.
